Event Overview

Career Forward is an open house event featuring graduate programs at UT Austin designed for working professionals. These programs enable you to advance your career while maintaining your job. Most of the participating programs allow you to complete your Master's Degree in two years or less, while taking classes on evenings, weekends, and/or online.

If you're interested in learning more about these unique programs, register via the Registration tab and join us on September 28, 2017! Career Forward 2017 is taking place at the LBJ School of Public Affairs on the UT Austin campus and runs from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Program tables will be staffed throughout the event; stop by whenever works best for you. More details are available by clicking on the Event Information tab.

Master of Business Administration | McCombs School of Business

Master of Arts in Human Dimensions of Organizations | College of Liberal Arts
HDO's Master of Arts in Human Dimensions of Organizations degree was created for leaders in the business, government, and nonprofit sectors searching for a more comprehensive understanding of how human behavior and experience affects the global marketplace. The 15-month program provides training in identifying and solving organizational problems by emphasizing real-world applications of the humanities, social sciences, and behavioral sciences.

Master of Science in Engineering | Cockrell School of Engineering
Engineering Management
The Engineering Management MS Degree, offered onsite and online, is designed to meet the growing demand for technical leaders who have strong engineering, science and technical backgrounds, and must demonstrate an understanding of management and financial issues.

Mechanical Engineering
This new 100% online, asynchronous, master’s degree allows you to earn a world-class education from anywhere in the world. You will gain immediately applicable industry related knowledge that will prepare you to solve engineering design problems with innovative solutions.

Software Engineering
The Software Engineering MS Degree, offered onsite by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, provides tools to deliver robust, advanced, on-time and in-budget software systems.

Electrical and Computer Engineering
This new online executive master’s degree allows students to earn a master’s degree remotely with only one onsite travel visit. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of electrical and computer engineering, and are given the opportunity for in-depth specialization in some particular aspect of these fields. Students choose from one of nine Academic Tracks.

Master of Science in Identity Management and Security | School of Information & Center for Identity
The Master of Science in Identity Management and Security is designed to educate a new generation of professionals with the skills needed to be effective stewards of Personal Identifiable Information. The program provides an interdisciplinary perspective to make graduates uniquely qualified to meet the identity and cybersecurity needs of today and the future.

Executive Master in Public Leadership | LBJ School of Public Affairs
The Executive Master in Public Leadership (EMPL) is a 14-month program designed for individuals in the public and nonprofit sectors who are successful leaders in their own right. The program provides the skills, practical applications, and learning environment to help working professionals raise the bar on their own personal brand of leadership for the constituents they serve.

Master of Science in Technology Commercialization | McCombs School of Business
The Master of Science in Technology Commercialization (MSTC) program is a one-year master’s degree from the McCombs School of Business. Meeting alternating weekends in-person or online, the Texas MSTC Program teaches students to profitably take new tech products from concept to launch, either as entrepreneurs or within an existing corporation. Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences | College of Natural Sciences
The Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences (MSNS) prepares individuals for teaching in community colleges; administration in public health programs; and technical positions at food, pharmaceutical, and chemical laboratories. It also offers advanced training in nutritional science to Registered Dietitians and other professionals. This 100% online degree offers the rigor and excellence of the on-campus graduate program to a wider audience.

Center for Professional Education, University Extension, & Health Informatics and Health IT Professional Education Program | Texas Extended Campus
The Center for Professional Education offers a variety of certificate programs and short courses that give you a flexible and cost-effective way to help you meet your educational and professional goals. Programs are taught by industry expert instructors and are conveniently offered in-class in the evenings on campus or online to give you the opportunity to complete programs at your pace. Take courses that align with your career goals, earn certificates that set you apart, and build your resume to help you achieve your career aspirations.

University Extension offers a variety of flexible online or in-class UT Austin courses for college credit that can be applied toward completing an undergraduate program or to earn credits to meet prerequisites for a graduate program. There is no application for admission required to enroll in courses and all courses are taught by UT Austin instructors or approved instructors and are applicable towards UT Austin degrees or transferable to other universities.

The Health Informatics and Health IT Professional Education Program provides post-baccalaureate students with unique, hands-on training in health informatics and health information technology. Students learn the basics of healthcare policy, healthcare economics, workflow and process redesign, project management, database fundamentals, health information exchange, interoperability and health informatics. This is a nine-week intensive training program designed to prepare graduates for a variety of exciting careers in Health IT.

Free parking is available to all attendees in lot 39 (located in front of the LBJ School). Several bus lines also serve the area. For more information regarding transit, visit http://www.capmetro.org.

There will be a networking area and bar open throughout the event. All registered attendees will receive two complimentary drink tickets. Light refreshments will also be provided.
