Making it more convenient for participants to earn certificates virtually.
January 12, 2021
Dear HDO Community,
Several years ago, we began bundling our one-day seminars into four-day certificate programs. These programs ran from Tuesday to Friday and allowed our participants to earn their HDO certificate in less than one week.
When we were running in-person courses, this format proved very convenient for our participants, especially for folks coming in from outside the Austin area to complete training programs with us.
Like most universities across the country, UT Austin has been operating mostly online since March 2020. With all of HDO’s training programs currently being offered in a live online format, we have temporarily modified our scheduling practices.
For the spring 2021 semester, we will be running our one-day courses on Wednesdays and Fridays from March 3 to May 7. Upon completion of their fourth course, participants will receive a certificate in the field of their choosing.
We hope this format provides increased flexibility and makes completing a four-day program less daunting.
We know that “Zoom fatigue” is real. Rather than asking folks to take four successive virtual courses, participants can complete four classes at any point throughout the semester and earn their certificate.
We will be offering 17 one-day courses this spring and three certificate program tracks: Strategic Leadership, Change Management, and Organizational Improvement.
We expect this scheduling change to be temporary, as we plan to resume in-person courses once conditions permit.
We hope to see you in our virtual classroom this semester! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Best,

“I can’t remember a more engaging and enigmatic facilitator, professor, or presenter in my entire academic and professional career. Very interesting juxtaposition of historical lessons and strategic thinking. I very much enjoyed the online seminar.”
– Alana Boulton, PMP, Program Manager, Dell Medical School
“Dr. Suri made things easy to digest as well as easy to apply to our own professional lives. The course gave me a lot of takeaways, particularly the strategic process he recommended. I thought HDO did a wonderful job of converting these seminars to Zoom.”
– Noelle Parsons, Manager, Corporate Relations Sponsorships & Exhibits, Texas Hospital Association Foundation
