Research Interests: Dr. Garza has taught and published on the Russian language and literature, foreign language pedagogy, and contemporary Russian culture during his twenty-one year tenure at UT Austin. His current research is on the attitudes of Russian youth toward the Chechen wars and conscription, and filmic portraits of machismo in contemporary Russian and Latino culture.
