Professor Tracy Wuster has a background in interdisciplinary approaches to history, American Studies, and literature, and has taught at The University of Texas at Austin since 2012.
He has taught in the Human Dimensions of Organizations program since 2020, including the introductory class, the capstone course, and “Creativity and Innovation in Organizations.” He is also involved in two Bridging Disciplines Programs at UT: Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship and Nonprofits and Social Entrepreneurship.
In the past, he taught courses on American studies, American literature, humor, and, for more than a decade, taught business writing, public speaking, ethics, design, and career development in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
His book, Mark Twain, The American Humorist, focuses on the literary reputation of Mark Twain from 1865 to 1882 as Twain came to national and international fame. He was Executive Director of the American Humor Studies Association for almost a decade.
His current academic interest is in teaching creativity and collaboration. He is currently working on a book tentatively titled Building Creativity: A Practical Guide.
