Hello and welcome to the second episode of HDO’s “Brain Power” series. Brain Power features short interviews with graduates and faculty of UT Austin’s Human Dimensions of Organizations (HDO) program hosted by our Director, Dr. Amy Ware.

Each episode focuses on how the HDO experience has impacted the interviewee’s personal and professional life. In today’s episode, Amy interviews HDO Master’s alumna Sara Llansa, Director of Houston ISD’s EMERGE program. EMERGE empowers and prepares high-performing youth from underserved communities to attend and graduate from the nation’s top colleges and universities.

In the clip below, Sara discusses what motivated her to join the HDO program, what she researched for her capstone project (developing a visioning framework for social change organizations), and how she continues to use what she learned in HDO in her daily work.
