Biography

Marcia Silverberg has recently retired from her executive coaching and human resources consulting practice, HR Directions, which she founded in 1998. She has decades of experience as a human resources and organizational development executive in health care, financial services and with client companies in multiple industries.  

As an experienced trainer and facilitator, Silverberg has presented workshops and taught classes at The University of Texas at Austin, Austin Community College, Kaiser Permanente, Partners of the Americas ABLA Conference, and for multiple clients. 

She retired in 2013 as Vice President, HR Strategic Initiatives and System Office Chief Human Resources Officer for Ascension Health, one of the largest not-for-profit health care system in the country with over 150,000 employees.  

Before her health care and consulting careers, Marcia spent 14 years with Mutual of New York (MONY) in both human resources and information technology leadership positions and served on the staff of the United Way of Central New York for five years. 

Silverberg is an active community volunteer, focusing  on Shalom Austin and the philanthropic goals and growth of the Shalom Austin Jewish Foundation.  

She has over 25 years of experience serving on boards of directors, including the boards of United Way of Capital Area, LifeWorks, Communities in Schools of Central Texas, Seton Cove, Leadership Austin, New Milestones Foundation and Texas Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
