Research Interests: Dr. Strong’s research areas include social and cultural analysis, feminist theory, and the culture of organizations. She is especially interested in the construction of identity and difference, and has published widely on the representation of American Indians in museums, sports organizations, youth organizations, literature, scholarship, art, and film. She is the author of American Indians and the American Imaginary (2012) and many other books and articles. She has received many teaching awards, and directs the University of Texas Humanities Institute.
